At JewishFilmFestivals.com, our mission is to serve as the central, dynamic hub for Jewish Film Festivals worldwide—connecting filmmakers, festival organizers, scholars, and audiences through the rich, diverse, and evolving world of Jewish cinema. Jewish films have long been a powerful medium for storytelling, cultural memory, and identity. From the first Yiddish language films starting as far back as the early 1900s to the emergence of dedicated Jewish Film Festivals in the 1980s, cinema has played a pivotal role in preserving Jewish heritage, examining contemporary issues, and fostering cross-cultural understanding. The first recognized Jewish Film Festival, the San Francisco Jewish Film Festival (founded in 1980), paved the way for over 200 such festivals across six continents, each serving as a vital space for dialogue, education, and community building. By bringing together comprehensive festival listings, along with distributors, talent, and general resources, JewishFilmFestivals.com champions the enduring relevance of Jewish film as both an artistic form and a communal tool. We believe that showcasing Jewish stories—historical and modern, joyful and complex—enriches global culture and helps forge stronger, more inclusive communities.
The Jewish Film Festival Connection is excited to be in partnership with: The Jewish Film Presenters Network. The Jewish Film Presenters Network is a group of over 200 Jewish film festivals from around the world (primarily in North America) which share ideas and resources to raise the standards of Jewish film presentations. Established by Isaac Zablocki in 2007, the network meets quarterly virtually and every two years holds an in-person conference. For more info see the Contact tab on this site.
Our site is new, and we are still fine-tuning things. If you have suggestions or comments, we’d love to hear from you! Please note: Because film festivals can change quickly, some information here may not always be completely up to date. We strongly recommend reaching out to festivals directly to confirm the latest details.
